Outreach
Charitable efforts are an important part of our mission at FamilyCare: not only here in Western North Carolina, but internationally as well.
Our Outreach Ukraine is just what the name implies: outreach to Ukraine's next generation, those who can make a dramatic difference in Ukraine and other regions of the former Soviet Union. An average job in Ukrainian villages or small towns may pay under $50 per month. When hopes are unfulfilled, and expectations unmet, many turn to alcohol, drugs, prostitution, or other vices. Many seek fulfillment in worldly desires leaving little room for God in their lives. In response, the traditional Russian Orthodox Church offers little more than condemnation and ridicule.
HIM Ukraine Orphanages provide a loving and caring environment for children whose parents are deceased or who have simply abandoned them. The Good Samaritan Orphanage in Mariupol, and the Pearl in Alexandria, each house and care for about 30 boys and girls ranging from four to eighteen years of age. At the ARK Drug and Rehabilitation Center, over 50% of the men and women who enter the Christian-based program are successfully rehabilitated.
We at FamilyCare believe in and support these missions. If you would like to know more about these valuable efforts, please contact us.
